Ubuntu is an ancient African philosophy that involves compassion, human virtue and community. Loosely translated, it can be defined as: "I am what I am, because of who we are".
Ubuntu Talks is a platform that seeks to put this philosophy into practice. Our aim is to explore our various identities and share our experiences with the world. Initially, Ubuntu Talks was created as a YouTube channel that gave Africans, as well as the African Diaspora a voice to define themselves – as they were often wrongly defined by the media. Since then, it has grown and become a space where any combination of people may voice themselves through articles, poetry, or videos.
