Miss Cameroun Canada (MCC) is an annual beauty pageant that takes place in Montreal. As the name suggests, this initiative celebrates Cameroonian heritage, culture and identity. It strives to stand apart from other beauty pageants by being a platform where its candidates are able to get involved in Cameroonian and Canadian communities respectively. MCC is less about physical beauty, and more about community engagement and life-long skills and learning. As part of its mandate, it asks each of its candidates to devise a project that will not only benefit themselves, but will create an impact that can be felt in Cameroon and Canada. From there, MCC provides aides and resources that are necessary to bring this project to life. This beauty pageant is a testament of how we can generate changes from across the world, and create ties between diverse communities.
