The greatest event in history that removed and dispersed millions from the continent was the transatlantic slave trade. Now, there are people spread all over the world who have never stepped foot on African soil, but still consider themselves as African. As discussed in the video, this can have a negative effect on identity, leaving people feeling lost in the world. On one side, it can be said that the people of this diaspora should return to the Motherland and reconnect with the part of themselves they feel is missing. On the hand however, this journey back becomes complicated when Africa is viewed as a continent with over 50 nations. Questions begin to arise such as: Which country or countries should I go to? Will I fit into the culture and daily activities of the people? Will this experience be beneficial?
