Black women share a special bond with each other. Their friendships create spaces where they are able to open up and talk about their ups and downs; their successes and failures. They are capable of nurturing and understanding each other through the physical, mental and emotional hardships that they experience. These friendships are vital when navigating within various systems of oppression. Through them, black women and femmes are able to push back against the myth that they are angry and unable to form lasting relationships amongst one another. In these spaces of friendship, black women care, heal and love each other.
